Favorite non-dairy, non-soy milk to use for baking
 
What is your favorite non-dairy, non-soy milk to use for baking/cooking? What do you feel gives you the outcome for baked goods and for regular recipes?

I have found that hemp milk in my pancakes/waffles works awesome!

What are your ideas?

I make and use Rice milk in all my baked goods and it also makes a great cream sauce

I've started using almond milk instead of soy, and really like it.

Almond milk here too, I think it tastes better.

Hazelnut milk is my favorite- in everything. I also like coconut milk when the flavor is advantageous and oat milk because its cheap and easy to make.

how do you make your own oat milk?????

i use this recipe when i make oat milk

Ingredients (makes 1 litre of oat milk)
1 cup rolled oats (or any other types will do)
5 c water (at room temperature)

Soak the oats in the water for about 20 minutes but not more or it will start becoming slimey. (You can do the soaking directly in a blender. If you are short of time, you can actually omit the soaking, especially if you are using fine oats).


Blend for one minute (until oats are very fine and well mixed).
Strain through a fine mesh fabric (like cheesecloth).
Squeeze out all liquid from the oat residue (but not too much or you'll get the slime).



Pour in a fridge jug or bottle and consume within 2 days.

Shake well each time before using.
