Pregnancy with teratoma - did you have to have c-sec?

I am 19 weeks with my fourth child. My last birth was wonderful and completely natural although in a hospital. I've had dreams of a birth center birth but found out at 8weeks that I have a 10cm teratoma in my right ovary.

Just meet with my midwife yesterday and she is referring me to transfer my care to a OB/GYN that specializes in high risk pregnancy and said that I will need a c-section.

I am scared of a c-section. I would much rather have the baby by myself in the woods then to get chopped up in the hospital.

For those of you that hate sugar coating can you let me know your experience - brutal honestly is what I'm looking for. I know I can't be the only one out there with a teratoma and pregnant.

I would think they want to do a csec so they can immediately remove the teratoma

My friend actually had her teratoma removed while she was still pregnant (at 18 weeks). I think hers was much larger than yours though. Once it was removed, she was able to have a vaginal delivery.

This is good to hear. I have an apt on Monday and I am going to ask about just having it removed now and how the surgery could affect the baby.

I appreciate the comments :)
