I'm interested in this too. I'm wanting to try making a singlet for my son to wear this summer, and I'm nervous to try...the pattern looks SO complicated! But it's rated as really easy on Ravelry.

My first ever knitting project was a onesie.

My second was scrappy convertible longies

SHORTIES!! they werent bad at all, fully functional even

dont read further than one step ahead of the pattern... once i broke it down and did one step at a time i was WAY less over whelmed :) I love knitting!

The very first thing I EVER made was some doll longies. It involved DPNs for the legs. But I made my LO some longies with the Sheepy Pants pattern for my first "real" project. They were good, sellable on FSOT even :) Although they were like tights on him, so I had to stretch the heck out of them when they blocked, and then they were too short! LOL

I say make what you desire, you will learn tons along the way and be inspired to finish since it will be something you really want.

Good luck!

I would say This shawl...after that I made some hats (4 different patterns). I'm supposed to make fingerless gloves for my mom next
