IF you were making PP mommy cloth

would it have a PUL backing?

I'm making some for myself and I have fleece for the backing, OCV for the inner and a combination of zorb and prefold cotton for soakers...but I was thinking for those first couple days, would it be good it they had a PUL layer...what do you think?

Since I have wool on hand I am making a 2 part pad. The bottom part will be lanolized wool and the top will be absorbent cotton. Then I only change the top cloth and change the bottom as needed. Although I am not needing pp cloth I do need mamma cloth. When using sposies I need to double up at night so I figured I would need heavy duty cloth pads.

I would make them without PUL - but have a longish oval of PUL to lay under the pad if I found that waterproofing was needed. If you make them with a fleece back, then you could also have a fleece extra bit if required.

I made mine with fleece back, 2 layer zorb inner, and OBV outer and they worked great. I don't think I had one leak.

I think either would work fine as long as you have enough absorbency. But I am terrified of leaks, so though I've never had any with my fleece pads, I would use PUL personally. :D

I am making mine with PUL backs for some and fleece backs for others. I'm using up scraps. If you're using good quality fleece, it shouldn't be a problem.

I have some overnight/PP pads and they are all fleece backed. They work great even with a super heavy flow. :yuck:
