Our weekend projectPICS added! post 3

I can't wait to share. I have been redoing my boys room and have been trying to not spend any money at all on it. :) I found this link on pinterest and decided to give these a try:

http://pinterest.com/pin/170714642094774869/

We had an old book shelf if their room before. It was just blah. I had gotten it free. We cut the shelf up and used the wood. We made 4 long shelves (one out of each shelf) and 2 smaller shelves (one out of each side). The shelves turned out amazing!

The last coat of paint is drying and then we will hang them and I'll post pictures. We used paint we already had. They only thing we purchased was the screws.

While making them I went into the basement to get something and found a giant laminated USA map. We never use the basement so I didn't know it was down there. We hung that beside ODS bed. He's 4 and is very into geography and science.

He collects snowglobes and last summer I found an old shelf at a garage sale for 25 cents that we bought to put his snowglobes on. We had never done anything with it so while I was painting the shelves I also painted it.

Took all their toys out of their room and moved them all to the toy room (and took 7 garbage bags full to goodwill and threw 4 garabage bags full away).

It feels so great to get things in better order and make their room super cute!

Pictures to come soon. :)

The wall has a weird reflection from the lamp. It doesn't have white marks on the brown in real life :)

The boys are 2.5 and 4. We have a 4 bedroom home but they want to share so I tried to decorate each side to fit their individual likes.

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with it! I have also been setting up one of the spare rooms for a future foster placement. I almost have it done also!
