Do you wash your prefolds with your pockets?
 

I read somewhere not to wash prefolds with pockets/inserts? Is that true? Or, is it just not to wash the natural fiber prefolds with the pockets with VELCRO?

I have washed them together before. You just have to secure the Velcro or it will mess up the pre fold.

Its absolutely fine to wash them all together. If you are prepping new prefolds, that's the only time necessary to keep them separate.

Unless they are new... i see no reason not to. Just pull the empty pockets and covers out before you dry.

just make sure the natural fiber diapes are FULLY prepped. i had a friend who washed her new grovia inserts with her pockets and had the HARDEST time getting all the natural cotton oils out of pockets. They repelled like crazy for a really long time. That being said, after i prepped my natural fibers, i wash them all together all the time and i've had no problems!

I've always washed everything together. I've never even seperated anything out when prepping and have never had problems. Though I did boil my hemp doublers just to prep them faster so any oils were already gone when I washed them in the washer. However, I never had problems prepping new cotton prefolds in with with all my other diapers.

You can wash them all together with no problem. But like PP said, only once they are prepped, natural fibers have oils that can leave residue on other diapers. But a strip on everything would get it out. :)
