how many diapers do you need to "test" out a new dipe

I have large lots of 2 diff types of dipes OTW. My plan is that i am going to try them both out and return the ones i didnt like as much. So, obviously, i wanna wash/wear as few of the dipes as possible. I feel like 1 dipe is not enough to really be able to tell. How many do u usually use to "test" out a dipe? How many do u think i should wash to test?

Thanks!

I think 1 - 2 would be enough. Are you testing for fit, ease of use, or absorbency?

Testing for trimness (which i could tell without even washing) and absorbancy

1 is enough.

I agree with 2. I change DDs diapers a lot and I feel I'd get a better idea of what I'm looking for in a dipe after 2 consecutive diapers changes, of the same diaper. (Sorry I couldn't word that quite right)
