Gerber premium flats and organic birdseye

prefolds?

Hi all, this is my first post here. I just found a package of "gerber organic prefold birdseye 3-ply cloth diapers" - any use in saving these? They seem even more thin than the usual Target cloth with the batting in the middle.

Also found a package of 12 "Gerber Flat-Fold Premium Cloth Diapers". I've been wanting to try flats, should I keep these?

Thanks!

How old and big is your baby? Gerber flats make good flats for newbies sometimes and good doublers when your baby is older. I have read good things about the Gerber 3 ply prefolds being used doubled and trifolded or stuffed into a pocket. I actually just got some from my MIL that I am prepping to see how well they will work.

The Gerber flats I was gifted are so awful I don't even like to use them for cleaning. They compare to "real" flats (Green Mountain Diapers' or Osocozy, for example) the way Kleenex compares to a handkerchief, I think. When I washed them they were all gauzy and see-through. But maybe that's a different kind.

If the prefolds are padded, either chunk them or use them for burp cloths.

I have read good things about Gerber premium flats in reviews on Amazon, but have not used them myself. I have used the regular flats you can find at Walmart with great success, first as a normal diaper when DD was newborn, and now as doublers or liners for gDiapers. I have stuffed my lone pocket diaper with them too. (DD is 15 months old right now & I bought another 10 pack of them about a month ago. It's my third pack. So not only do I like them well enough to be using them more than a year later, I like them well enough to buy more. ;))
