Wool machine setting?

So, I have a nice HEFL that has a wool wash setting and I keep debating whether I should attempt to wash my wool in it and soak it in lanolin in the sink after that. Has anyone tried this or is it a bad idea? All of my wool covers are hand knitted if that helps any.

TIA
Kim

I have washed interlock wool that way but never any hand knits. I have always been too scared! I would like to know, too.

What yarn base? I have washed handknits in mine on the wool setting without problems. I have heard BFL and the Gaias (worsted and bulky) are at much higher risk of felting, but we don't have any woolies made from that. I have even washed 3ply purewool sweater in mine without problems. Just make sure they don't go into the dryer.

The interlock comes out looking like new. No felting or pilling on the 95/5 interlock.
