Babywearing in Pregnancy?

What kind of baby carrier did you use while pregnant? My DS is 8 months and I'm 6 weeks pregnant....I love my maman kangaroo stretchy wrap, and would love to hear how you got along while pregnant. Pics would be awesome too!

Thanks mamas!

I have worn ring slings, mei tais and SSCs. What I have worn the most is my beco 4G on my back for my son who is now 23 mo old and I am 36 wks pregnant.

this is 2 days ago:

I wear him on my hip in a RS for a VERY short time, like at church. Or I have worn him in a mei tai on my front above my belly. When I wear him, I used to put the waist strap under my belly but it became way more comfortable to wear the waist strap above my stomach once it would stop slipping down.

Re: Babywearing in Pregnancy?

sorry i don't have pics, but was just wearing my 2.5 yr old ds in our kinderpack last night and i'm almost 38 weeks. i can't do it for long, he's heavy! but the good news is, unless we're out walking around somewhere (and dh wears him for that sort of thing now, i just can't, we're both too big :p), he generally just goes in the carrier when he's being SUPER cranky, and daddy isn't around to distract him. he hangs out there for about 5 minutes (literally long enough for me to start boiling some rice on the stove) and then wants down, and is totally content afterwards. earlier in the pregnancy, i wore him a lot more often and for longer periods of time, it's just as i've gotten so much further along that it's gotten so difficult.

jury is still out on whether i prefer strap above the bump or strap below, i kind of switch off depending on how i feel. it feels a lot more secure above the bump, but i have a lot of issues with nausea in pregnancy, and having that weight there sort of exacerbates that, so lately i've been going back to below the bump.

No pics, but I have worn DD this whole pregnancy. She is 20 months and I'm still wearing her now at 33 weeks. For the past 4 weeks or so, I've only been wearing her on my back. I wear her in her Ergo and love it. The belt fits great underneath my belly.

I think you would be able to easily wear your lo in a wrap through the duration of your pg bc a wrap offers so many different ways to wear your lo so that you are comforatable.

Wore my 23 mo in a ring sling on my front for a short time today. He was above my belly. He's about 25 lb.

I wore through my 2nd and most of my 3rd pregnancies. Mostly a pouch sling with ds1 and a woven wrap on my back with ds2

I wore my older daughter throughout my last pregnancy. Here I am 4 days overdue with a woven wrap (pretty much the only comfortable carrier after 20 weeks, and always on my back to balance the weight). My daughter was 2.5 and around 25 lbs.
