Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of June 4th

This thread is for women that have children who are trying to have more and struggling with infertility (IF). You fall into the IF category if you have been trying for more than a year or if you have known fertility issues. Some have secondary IF and some have primary IF. Some of us are TTC naturally and some need treatments of some type. All are welcome!

We also have women who are praying to make it. Due to prior losses or IF they don't feel like they should join a due date board till after the first 12 weeks. We are truly happy to support you as you transition. Please just keep in mind that we are a group of woman struggling with IF and be sensitive to that as you post. If you put a pregnancy ticker or smiley in your signature, please turn off your signature when you post in this thread. Thank you!

Please note: When your information needs to be updated, please highlight the area that needs to be updated. This will make it easier for me to update you. :goodvibes:

If you'd like to be added please post your info using the format below. Please note: I remove names if you are inactive for one month. This really helps keep the list more manageable, if you would like to be added back, just repost your info. :D

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of June 4th

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is having a great Monday so far!

Carissa- I am so excited for you! I had a rough experience with one of my IUI's too- they aren't always painful. (at least in my experience...) FX'd that you won't have to worry anymore after this one!

Jacqueline-How are you feeling? Do you have your IVF protocol yet?

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of June 4th

 I am back from camping! You can read about it on my blog (link in siggy or www.ourunplannedlife.com for people on a smart phone).

Love4leon - I don't think I will start before August but stranger things have happened to me. I am not worried though, like I think I have said on here before, I have until Christmas to get a sticky baby. If I succeed with that, then I will still be able to go on the trip to Hawaii that my inlaws have been talking about for years now. I just hope inflation gets under control, it will cost us about $1200 if I am lucky for airfare out to Portland for the 3 of us and hopefully my inlaws will pick up from Portland to Hawaii. Expensive trip! However the last time they did this we went on a cruise at Christmas and they paid for the cruise and airfare (just 2 of us then) and that had to be expensive too!

I can help answer IVF questions. I used to help moderate an IVF board. I learned a ton during that time. :D

lalakiwi7 - I live in a small state (New Jersey) but I don't go out of state for IVF. However for everything else I do, I do go out of state. Go figure! :giggle2:

Sorry so late but yesterday was a busy day! Beta was 153! Highest ever! I go back on Monday....

- :yay: :yay: Congratulations!! Funny how beta's are. That is about on par with my triplet pregnancy which was my lowest starting beta (all 3 betas were 14 days past transfer or IUI). I hope you get great news today about your beta!

jacquelinemarie82 - I used to get ear infections all the time. Surprised they didn't put tubes in my ears, and I never had dizziness like that! The only thing (drug) that makes me feel like that is progesterone. Are you on the progesterone only BCP? I hope you feel better soon!

JCPACandMommy - Sorry your procedure was so painful. :hugs: Glad you were feeling well enough though to go camping. Prayers for you for good news in 2 weeks!

AFM - I am going to see my nutritionist this afternoon. I didn't do my food journal since Thursday but that is because it was too hard to plan food times when camping, since we were not camping by "Elizabeth Tower" (formerly known as Big Ben).

finleyjudemommy 06-04-2012 12:25 PM

Your triplet pregnancy??? Oh my! I haven't heard about my beta today but my thyroid is wonky so I start a new dose of meds tomorrow!

Just a short me update. Transfered 2 great looking blasts today so I'm officially PUPO. Beta is June 15th but I think it's safe to say I won't make it until then without testing. (that would be 16dpo) *yawn* The high doses of progesterone are making me so sleepy. Off to bed because I have a long day at work tomorrow.
We didn't get any to freeze because of the 5 others 2 arrested and 3 were abnormal (trisomies).

Completely OT Update:
DF has had really bad swelling along with pain in the right side of his back behind his lung. He was told it was a torn or strained muscle, but the prescribed anti-inflamitory meds didn't help at all. He came home Friday with the same pain and worse swelling, and was able to get into the Dr this morning so they could U/S his gallbladder. The u/s came back clean for his gallbladder but they called and told him he needed to come in this afternoon. They gave him an xray.
He has fluid filling his right lung, and starting to fill his left. As well as fluid surrounding his heart. His dad died from congestive heart failure so this was hard for him to hear. Blood work also shows that his white blood cell count is low, and his liver enzyme count is high. They called in another Dr form the clinic and another from a different nearby clinic and the 3 agree it looks like he either has Lupus or Leukemia. He goes in for an exploratory surgery tomorrow to look for a mass among the swelling and to try to remove as much of the fluid as possible.

He mentioned tonight about still wanting to TTC, but I told him I really didn't want to think about it right now, at least until after tomorrow... I just wanted to check in with everyone, but depending how things go, I may not have another update for a week or 2.

Samantha I am so sorry! How terrifying! Please keep us posted! It sounds like you could have caught this early and that is the good thing. I hope you get good news today and in the coming weeks! :hugs: I had lymphoma which is the other side of the coin. So if you need to talk to someone, I am here. :bighug:

I think we cross posted yesterday. :headscratch: Anyway, congratulations on being PUPO!!!! I hope that you get a nice high beta on the 15th! I hear you about the progesterone! I am on that right now (not even as high as when I am cycling) and I am starting to feel pregnant! I fell asleep last night at 9:30 and I even had a nap yesterday!:giggle: Sorry about not having any to freeze. That really stinks! :hugs:

AFM - I terrified my nutritionist yesterday by saying that we fried everything in lard over the weekend. :giggle2: I think she is of the mindset that if you eat fat you gain fat and that isn't what the science says. So she was shocked that I was only a pound up (which could be anything and not a real value). I need to eat more every 2.5 hours (doesn't happen in the morning normally) and move my dinner time (normally at 8 so I need to move it to 6:30). So that is what I will work on till I see her again (at the end of July).

He mentioned tonight about still wanting to TTC, but I told him I really didn't want to think about it right now, at least until after tomorrow... I just wanted to check in with everyone, but depending how things go, I may not have another update for a week or 2.

 for you and DF...Hope the outcome is the better of the two not that Lupus is better....or maybe neither and is something simple to fix...

Aren't Nutritionist's funny with that stuff!! Good luck on the change in your diet! You can do it mama! I have been looking at my diet in preparation for changing if I get pregnant to the diet I was on while I had GD in hopes to avoid it this time around!! I know I should be on it now but it is so hard with camping every weekend!! :giggle2:

That is the thing though. My RE is worried that I will get pre-diabeties and my oncologist (who by very nature deals with old people) laughs at my RE!! I never had GD with either of my previous pregnancies so I don't know what is going on. Last time they told me to eat like the nutritionist wanted me to until I got pregnant, then eat whatever I wanted.
