If you are going to look at Weston A Price I urge you to do some serious research because some of them have crazy levels of some vitamins which can cause liver damage. It also uses a lot of supplements which are unregulated.

I was nervous to use formula as well and totally know the feeling. We all want what's best.

We are doing Similac and it's working well. Good luck in your research :)

Be careful! It's made with raw cow's milk, which is so dangerous that it's not even legal to buy/sell in Canada!
The formulas out there are regulated by government and provide complete balanced nutrition. I trust them to give my baby the best stuff that she needs. Be sure to get one that has DHA/ARA, for brain development, it's sooooo important!

Raw cows milk isnt all that scary. I would be hesitant to buy from just anyone but its actually a lot healthier, nutrient-wise than store bought. Not sure Id give it to my baby though. Formula is so much better formulated these days, I wouldnt feel I could make something better/safer, etc (and this from a bfer).

Do the research into Raw milk. My DH is a scientist and I drank raw milk my whole childhood. I wanted to go to it and DH didn't want me to. Finally I said to him, "Show me where it is bad for you!!" A week later he said he looked and he looked and couldn't find anything that was scientific that it was bad for you, if you know your source. We now all drink it and DH will go toe to toe with anyone that says it is bad for you.

WAP also has formulas that are based on liver so if you are REALLY freaked out by raw milk you can go that way. Again though, you need to know your source for liver just like raw milk, as they are not all created equal.

Personally I wouldn't give it to a NICU baby (meaning one that is just out of the NICU or in it) but I wouldn't mind giving it to an otherwise healthy baby. I have no issues with breastfeeding though and my children seem to take to it like a duck to water.

Just putting this out there, I supplemented both of my DDs w raw goats milk.

I just read how goats milk is so much easier to digest then cows milk. My mom and her siblings and a few of my cousins and their children were all raised on that as formula and they're fine.

My aunt has a heard and it's organic no hormones, I know the source, yada yada....
Maybe u could get a goat?

The one based on liver has a nearly toxic level of Vitamin A.
