Any Graphic Designers?

I'd like to start freelancing but have no clue where to start! I've always just worked for a company. I'm a SAHM now but we could really use more cash!

Hello,
I have done some freelance work on the side. I found the best place to look is Craigslist. You can also post what you are willing to do i.e ads, websites, business cards, etc.
I don't know where you are located but here in the Silicon Valley Craigslist is a great bet.
I hope this helps.
Eric

I'd create a website (with freeware) that showcases some of your best work and any reviews or feedback. THEN start advertising with free websites, visit local businesses, make a flyer, etc.

Hey! I do some graphic design, though mostly web design and related. There are a TON of freelancer websites that might be of interest to you, I'm signed up to half a dozen. Most of them are free to bid on a certain number of jobs a month, though if you don't have much of a portfolio, the Design Crowd might be of interest because you won't necessarily get paid for every project (each clients picks the design they like best), but it helps you build a nice portfolio. I've been freelancing on and off for almost 10 years until I quit my FT job last year, and now I'm doing this "full-time" (or as much as I can with 2 kids to care for!). Feel free to message me if you have any questions!

In addition to these and to Craigslist, you should also consider joining a local network of designers/freelancers. There are a ton in my area - one for mom entrepreneurs, one for women who work in web design, and a few others. I've joined their mailing lists and plan to start attending networking events soon. Good luck!
