Postpartum diagnosis with Chronic Kidney Disease

I was wondering if anyone else went through this. I developed preeclampsia around week 34 and made it week 36. Induction took so long my girl was born at exactly 37 weeks (yay). Anyway, turns out the pre-e symptoms never cleared pp and I have now been diagnosed with Kidney Disease. My doctors have said it will be high risk having more children but said it's okay to do so and that I'll be very closely monitored. They also said we'll have to deliver early again. My question is has anyone else been through this? How damaging to my body will it be to have another soon since I can't push time too much. How early did you have to deliver? Any advice would be well appreciated! Thanks!

I wouldn't space them too closely together; that's just asking for trouble. I don't know your reasons for wanting them close together, but I would examine the risks of having another child soon after a difficult pregnancy. There are risks for you and for the new baby. Generally 2.5 to 4 years apart is known to be best for the physical health of both. I think that child spacing should be based on that a lot more than "they will be great friends, etc.." (not that that is your reason; I've just heard it a lot).

Also I would read the book "Real Food for Mother and Baby". If you want to have the best chance of a healthy pregnancy and baby, nourishing your body optimally is really important and will give you your best chance for everyone to end up healthy.
