Vitamins?
Do any of you ebf moms give your baby vitamin drops?
|
Re: Vitamins?
Not when he was EBF. We started doing Vit. D drops by Carlson Labs during winter once he was eating more solids and nursing a little less (around 15-16 mos. old). It wasn't an everyday thing though.
We stick to Vit D during winter because we aren't able to get out as often and into the sun. It's a great protector against the flu, too. :) |
Re: Vitamins?
Our pediatrician told me to give Polyvisol drops until they weaned. DS1 loved the drops. DS2 doesn't like them and I have never given them to him other than just a few times.

Nope. Three nurslings and never did.

Re: Vitamins?
Just Vit. D when I remember lol

Re: Vitamins?
Do I have to rinse my diapers in the toilet if I do? Right now I'm just throwing them in the pail.
|
We do the fluoride drops that have vits a, d, and c in them. Ped prescribed. Ds is 8 months and likes them a lot.

On the fence on this issue myself. Our ped gave us Enfamil vitamin D drops on our last visit...
... along with ANOTHER can of formula and 2 ready-made containers of formula. *sigh* I'm thinking of getting the Carlson ones that are only one drop? Not sure, though. |
I just ordered vitamin d drops from vita cost (their brand) and the instructions say to just put a drop (if I recall correctly) on your nipple. I have yet to receive them and DS isn't due for 2 weeks, but it sounded pretty simple to me.

Re: Vitamins?
Nope. They are generally not necessary and are just one of the many "one-size-fits-all" recommendations that Pediatricians prescribe... There are good reasons to avoid giving unnecessary "supplements".
