Update: They boys came home after 2 weeks in the NICU, and are doing great! They are great sleepers and eaters!

I haven't been around in a few months, but I wanted to update you all on my twin boys.

Abel James and Roman Silas were born on July 21 at 32 weeks 6 days. They are still in the NICU, but are doing very well. I'm hoping they can come home as soon as next week!

I went in for a routine checkup on Monday, July 16, and my doc discovered that I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. She immediately put me on hospital bed rest and started the steroid shots to help the babies' lungs mature. I was basically in a very slow labor from Monday until late Friday afternoon. On Friday I kept telling people (multiple nurses, my husband, my doula/MIL) that I was in labor, but nobody believed me! One nurse told me to drink some water and take some Tylenol. Ha. FINALLY at 7:30 p.m. I convinced a nurse to check me, and I was a 7 going on 8cm! She went into panic mode, but all went perfectly. The boys were born only 6 minutes apart, weighing 4 lbs 11 oz and 4 lbs 9 oz.
