Breastmilk and healing

This is just a fun thread. So I have read in many places online that breastmilk has a lot of healing powers. I have heard things like a couple drops in the nose will clear a stuffy nose, using it to wash your face can help acne, and it can make cuts heal faster.

So have any of you tried any of this? Got any tips?

The reason I am doing this is because my DH's allergies are really bad and I keep threatening him to put BM up his nose!:lostit:

I've used breastmilk to heal DH's conjunctivitis (lol). I've also used it on cuts, DD's diaper rash and other rashes. I used it on her cradle cap and baby acne when she was a wee one.

I used in on both DS and DD when they go RSV as newborns (the NICu nurses thought I had lost my mind when they saw me trying to squirt milk up DS's nose) I also have used it to cure a really bad chronic case of pink-eye and chronic ear infections in both myself and DD.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I think my DD has allergies, her nose has been stuffy since the day she was born...maybe I should try that!

I use it on cuts/scrapes, etc. for me, dh, and dd. 2 weeks ago, dd fell REALLY bad and hard for the first time on concrete and it broke the skin and there was some blood. So, once a day for the next 3 days, I put some breastmilk on it and there was no scabbing or bruising!

Now, dh kicked me really hard (accidentally! we were playing soccer) in the shin the other day and so far I've put breast milk on it 2 or 3 times and so far, no bruising.

Ahh! The elixir of life! :)

That's so awesome! I'm going to be reading up on that for sure!

The best healing with my breastmilk was my own nipples when I started breastfeeding. After ds was done, I'd express a couple of drops and rub them on my nipple and I never had cracked or dry nipples and I think it really cut down on the soreness, too!

Yeah, it's the best. When DS is sick, I squirt it up his nose. He doesn't like it, but it works like a charm!:goodvibes:
