Diapers for big newborns

My daughter ( our 1st child) was 9lbs 5 oz 21.5 inches long at birth and wasn't cloth diapered until about 18 months old and we just bought a bunch of BG OS. My son (our 2nd child) was 10 lbs 9 oz and 21.5 inches at birth and immediately fit into his sisters BG OS diapers- the only thing was the rise was right at his belly button- and it made me a little nervous with his umbilical chord. I am wanting to go and get some smaller sized diapers for when our 3rd child gets here ( this is our last baby) and I was wanting to know if it was worth it to get a few newborn sized diapers with the umbillical cut out or if small diapers would work because I have pretty good sized little ones. I'm looking for recommendations on sizes, brands, types ( we use everything from flats to fitteds to aio's). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I loved swaddlebees newborns. Good for big babies and they have the snap down for the cord.

I highly recommend the xs bitty bliss fitteds from the diaper drive thru on HC. DS was a smaller newborn, but these fit him when he was about 8lbs, and they still fit now. He's 2 months and almost 14lbs with very chubby legs, and they still work on him.

Thanks for the recommendations! The bigger newborn size I make is called "Small" and it does have the umbilical snap-down just like the regular newborn size. :goodvibes: Here's an example: http://littleboppers.com/product/481
I make them in Fitteds, Hybrid Fitteds, AI2s with hidden PUL, and breathable AI2s with Wind Pro fleece.

My LO was 9lbs 1oz and I found the Pianissimo cloth newborn size was the roomiest of what we had, it has the snap down for the cord and still fits him now at over 15 lbs and 4 months old! I did also love the one Little Boppers we had and wish I had gotten more of them.

Maybe some itti bittis? They are pretty low rise and very trim, but they run a little small so I dont know if they'll last too long for a larger nb.

simplex nb, kissaluvs, and tots bots tini fit aios all run to 15 lbs. I went with the simplex and tini fits, but all three have awesome reviews!

Good to know about tots bots tiny fits! Did they fit around 8lb? No leg gaping?
