Potty training and MDO?

Yesterday DS (24 mos) decided he wanted to use the potty (thanks, Elmo potty DVD for $1 at consignment!). He wore undies from 4-8pm with 4 pees and no accidents, has had one accident this morning (as I was typing this!), BUT just made poo in the potty.

So, we're not full out PTing but I'd like to keep up the momentum and keep following his cues. He goes to MDO tomorrow. Would you put him in diapers, pullups or underwear? I'd been hoping to avoid pullups for cost and efficacy reasons (I've had friends whose kids regressed in them), but since this is SO new, I want to do whatever will help him and his teachers the most.

Not sure what MDO is, but you should probably talk it through with the teachers. I suggest sending him commando (pants, no underwear) for a month or so. It sounds like he's doing really well. If the teachers are paying attention and/or taking him every hour (at least), he should do fine.

Definitely talk to them though.

I think Mothers Day Out programs get this a lot and are probably somewhat prepared to take them often.

Send a few sets of pants.

Thanks, ladies. Pullups were a bust today. He peed in them and said they were his new diaper. Did well on the potty at home. Started a thread asking for cloth trainer recs!

MDO is mothers day out.

If he does well in underwear, i'd send him in underwear with extra changes. You can buy Gerber brand training underwear with extra absorbant padding to keep in most of the accident so he doesn't leave a huge mess everywhere when he does have an accident.
