Appointment today at 4pm.
 

I'm so nervous. I had an appointment last week, just to confirm pregnancy. According to her, and my LMP, I was 6 weeks 4 days. Today, I am 7 weeks 4 days, and I have my first real appointment.

She wants to do bloodwork, a pap smear, and an ultrasound. I am SO nervous about the pap smear, just because I'm afraid of spotting, or something bad happening afterward. We had a loss in April (never had a pelvic exam with that one), so my anxiety is expected.

I don't want to reject it, though, because I would like to make sure that everything is a-ok down there (cervical cancer scares me), I also want to make sure there's no bacteria, or anything like that. Just want to make sure I check out health wise.

What do you guys suggest? I've never had a "natural" pregnancy, if you will. Always had the standard tests and stuff done with each pregnancy. I'm just super nervous this time around.

I've never had any problems with paps early in pregnancy. Even of you spot a little, that's completely normal.

:hugs: I understand your anxiety. After I had a loss, I never viewed pregnancy the same. It's hard to not be afraid once you've gone through a miscarriage.

I think I am going to ask if I can just delay it until my next appointment. I would be 11 weeks or so, and would feel a bit more safe about it then, I think. I'm not wanting to put it off completely... just don't feel comfortable doing it today.

Was amazing! Scheduled pap for 2 weeks out.

Got an ultrasound, and saw a little peanut with a heartbeat. :) Super excited. Due May 8th.
