Quick help for dd's cold

My 20 month old dd has a cold. No fever, runny/stuffy nose and a cough from the drainage that is keeping her awake at night. I am out of my elderberry syrup which usually works great for us. Does anybody have any natural remedies I could try? I have ginger, honey, garlic, and onion on hand if I can use any of those... My internet is gone crazy on me today, so I'm having a hard time finding much info. Any ideas?

Re: Quick help for dd's cold

I always keep fenugreek tea on hand for when we're sick. It works as a decongestant. Honey is very soothing for a sore throat. I had some friends that gave her kids lots of garlic when they started getting sick. It will work if it's bacterial. I like to give my kids tincture when they're sick, but not when they're that young (I put it in their juice).

I wish I had fenugreek! We've cut out sugar and upped her vit.c and fluids...
