I'm in! I need to control my spending  I spent way too much on fun stuff last week (granted, it was my birthday, but I didn't REALLY need to spend $200 on yarn and $60 on clothes for Danae for over a year away!)

Week 1:
1. $0
2. $0
3. $0
4. $0
5. $2.50 to list yarn on Spot's Corner, $85 at grocery store
6. $0
7. $0

Week 2:
8. $80 DH's insulin, $62 Wal-Mart (light bulbs and household items), $8.50 treats for DH (I took pity on him )
9. $60 gas in my minivan
10. $34 DH took us out to lunch (total surprise! We almost never eat out!)
11. $92 at grocery store (but I got a bunch of peanut butter and cheese)
12. $34.80 grocery store, $3.14 Redbox
13. $0
14. $112 Amazon (presents)

Week 3:
15. $0
16. $0
17. $0
18. $130.02 Groceries, $95.60 Wal-Mart (I don't remember what I got!)
19. $6.89 USPS, had to ship a package to Canada
20. $95.02 Gas for Suburban to visit in-laws
21. $0

Week 4:
22. $0
23. $93.81 for camera and memory cards (I lost my camera, I'm convinced it fell in the garbage and is long gone :( )
24. $0
25. $0
26. $24.85 Groceries, $2 Redbox, $31 pizza (we had a party for the kids completing 4 weeks of school)
27. $59.20 Groceries (for DS's b'day on the 28th)
28. $0

Week 5:
29. $110.48 for DH's insulin
30. $0 (DS found my camera!!! The couch had eaten it...)
31. $87 for Depo shot (I CAN NOT get :preggo: again!), $117.90 groceries

Totals:
Groceries: $552.27 (I try to stay under $600)
Eating out: $65
Household: $376 (Some of this is groceries I got at Wal-Mart)
Medical: $380 (not usually this much, but DH should have enough insulin for most of next month)
Gas: $145 (does not include DH's work truck, which is usually around $400/month. This month it was $268 because he was mostly working locally!)

I would like to be in, but can someone tell me how this works? Do we put in everything we spend including bills, groceries & household or just extras?

I need to attempt this again, but will probably fail as usual...

I do everything but bills. I add in groceries and household items, just because I can somewhat control what goes out. Some people post part of their budget at the bottom (like "Groceries: $234/$550" to keep track of where they're at). So post what you think will help you.

Need a cheerleader? I always fail too (to the point that I don't write down what I spent because it was SUCH an epic fail!) but I figure if I don't even try, then it will be even worse! And this month, I'm determined to write down everything I spend on here, because if I'm too embarrassed to share it with everyone then I shouldn't be doing it. So, what are your goals for this month?

I keep track of everything except bills. So any spending including gas, groceries, etc. I don't include regular monthly expenses.
