Space Birthday Ideas Needed
Looking for space birthday party ideas needed. The party is being held outside at a park. For a 4 yr old

Our budget is tiny so these are the ideas I have come up with so far.
I will decorate with navy crepe paper streamers with stars hanging from them.
The table cloths will be dark blue with star confetti
I decided to get a plain white cake from costco and add on one of tose edible cake images DS likes this one
I want to serve chicken nuggets, but I am still trying to figure out how to keep them hot at the park. My latest thought is cooking them a little too crispy in the oven and then sticking them in a hot crockpot with paper towels.
I will just get a deli sandwich tray from costco for the adults.
maybe some veggie straw chips and tortillas chips and hummus.
veggie tray with ranch
I will serve chocolate milk and water for drinks

I am going to make a pinata of the Moon. Like this one

I found a cool blow up astronaut.
and space shuttle
These rubber duckies will be the favors

With total out of pocket is Around $30 not including food.

Toss the planet (ball) into the black hole

Pin the antenna/tentacle on the alien

We did a airplane birthday for my son this year and the biggest hit was taking a piece of foam board and making a photo cut out that people could put their heads in.
Everyone from the 2 year olds to the 90 year olds thought it was fun.

Re: Space Birthday Ideas Needed
you can make a rocket cake pretty easily, using a couple of bread loaf pans and cutting the corners for triangles to add as the top and wings of the rocket. for other food, you could make (or buy) doughnut holes and call them meteors. something fun (and a little messy) would be to make star sugar cookies and the kids can decorate them. OR if you don't want too much sugar, make a bunch of sandwiches and use a star cookie cutter for those.

for games, you can ahead of time make planets (maybe using balls wrapped in paper, or even apples or oranges made to look sort of like the planets) and play a scavenger hunt game. you can play a version of "duck duck goose", but instead have the kid count down from 10 and say "blast off!" and that kid has to jump up and chase the "astronaut."

I did these theme when my son turned 4. I made goodie bags by going to target and buying blue bags and them I went to michaels and bought those foam stickers. The bags looked really cute. The bags had pop rocks, moon pie, and other space candy I found. I bought a dark blue sheet cake and I decorated it with glow in the dark planets and Lego astronauts I found at toys r us. I also had star sprinkles. To go along with the cake I found austronout ice cream, which is dehydrated ice cream. This was a big hit. You can find it online. Oh and we had some tang for beverage because it's what the austronouts drink :)

astronaut ice cream. we did this for my ds' 8th b-day. we had a pop-up tent that we used as a "moon bounce"....maybe make space helmets- I am sure you can get head sized boxes free somewhere. for cakes (your idea is cute too!), I made a bunch of diff sized ones (for the planets)...glow in dark stars etc in favor bag from $ store

For my daughter's space party a few years ago we made felted wool 'planets' (balls with swirly colors on the outside) for favors. Dd really enjoyed making them with me, and the kids enjoyed playing with them. Could be combined with the previous game suggestion, toss the planets into the black hole (or whatever).
