LAM, EWCM and other acronyms
 

Whats the skinny on LAM for TTA? I meet all the criteria for ecological BFing...am I really 98-99.5% safe. DD is 4 months, EBF, no bottles or pacis, feeds on demands, doesnt sleep through the night. The last week Ive had some EWCM and its kinda messing with me! It would suck to be that 2% failure rate....we would like more spacing in our kids than that, eek!

Oh crud! Just got a +opk :-/ Guess Im in the tww. Whatever Gods plan is I accept it, but I am so not ready to be pg again yet!!!

I wouldn't trust breastfeeding as a preventive measure. You ovulate prior to your fppaf and you cn catch that first egg. I know from previous children my fppaf doesn't come until usually a year but I still use protection even with no signs of it coming back yet.

10 dpo and BFN so far :praying: I have never been happy to see a negative hpt before...it feels weird. I tested + by 9-10 dpo with my previous pregnancies, so Im hopeful though still not out of the woods.

AF is here, woo hoo!

Glad you got the answer you wanted! If you weren't temping, it's also very possible that you got +OPK without ovulating, but I still wouldn't risk it if you're not prepared for another so soon.

We follow all the rules for LAM and meet the criteria for eco BFing, too, and I tend to get EWCM on and off from 4.5 mths until AF returns at 6mths. I don't actually ovulate until my 3rd cycle PP (and then my LPs are truly dismal until I stop BFing). I start charting again pretty much immediately--usually within 6-8 weeks after the birth, so I'm confident in my case, but I still won't chance it, just in case it ends up different this time.
