4 yo night options?

So my 4 yo DS, who was dry 98% of the time for almost a year, has had a rough few months with several long phases of peeing in his bed at night. I finally broke down tonight and put him in a diaper, squeezed in a large bsww and trifolded prefold (gmd organic brown). I'm sure it won't hold, but he was actually happy to have it on and I'm kind of hoping it helps him wake in time. At 38 lbs he is too big for the flip, which we tried.

I was thinking about the med HH trainers, or possibly some ME Sandys (toddler sized)? Any other ideas? I don't want to spend too much, but this has been going on for a couple of months so I'm guessing it will last for awhile longer.

L or XL fuzzibunz with an organic flip insert stuffed inside should work.

We use mother-ease bed wetter pants. They are pricey but I am so happy that we got them. We only have a few and wash then every 2 days.

ditto the motherease I had to use something with my oldest till she was around 6. The motherease worked really well I also love the snap EZ stuffable trainers but I dont think those are still made?

I use Flip trainers with my nearly five year old. I have to double up the inserts or he leaks (I've also used a flat and one of their inserts and it worked just as well). We use the disposable insets on the road, and they work very well.

I recently ordered an XXL FB for my nearly 5 yo. I hope it works because changing wet sheets 2 times a night is getting OLD.

toddleease sandies work great. they are roomy too so you can stuff them. i used to use them at night with my son. what we would do: use a cotton babies stay dry sock stuff with a hemp prefold inside of them, snap them closed, then a dancing bears fleece cover. it was excessive but worked. actually worked better than sposie pull ups at night where absorbancy is concerned. we dont need that set up anymore though.

Ladder Hill Design - overnight trainers.

They are cute and don't look like a diaper.

She has some cute ones up right now:

My 4 and 5 year olds have used these for about a year and a half. My 5 year old finally is night training. These are excellent. We stuff with a FLIP organic or a Thirsties Hemp prefold - left over from diapering.

The size 4 fit my tall skinny 50 lbs 5 almost 6 year old. But the size 4 with room also fit my shorter, solid 38 lbs 4 year old. She could still use a size 3, but it was getting a little tight with all the stuffed prefolds.

Thanks for the suggestions- he was dry last night, so I'll wait until he's tested the bsww/prefold combo. It just looks to short in the rise to be effective, but we'll see.
