At your knit's end? Pinch Knitter can help with any of your knit and knot needs :)

I am a single mom of 4 beautiful girls under 8 and, like many of you, spend the majority of my time playing referee and minimizing the collateral damage to our home. We have a garden, CD, recycle, use FC, and are trying to be as green as possible and minimize our collateral damage on the planet.

I learned the basics of crochet and knit as a child, but never really got into it until I got pregnant with DD1. I made a couple blankets for her while I was pregnant and continued to make blankets for pregnant friends and family members for the next 2 years. When DD1 turned 2, I crocheted her an afghan for her "big girl bed" and started crocheting toys, hats, socks and legwarmers. When DD2 was born, I deicided to CD and started crocheting woolies for her bum and it's just snowballed from there. . . These days, it is rare to see me seated without a project in hand, crocheting or knitting away. So far, I have made beautiful and durable stuffed toys, teethers, tea sets, play food, knit and crocheted longies, skirties, soakers, shorties, capris, convertible capris, socks, hats, headbands, flower buttons and other appliques to add to practically anything, sponges, washcloths, dish cloths, pot holders and more. So I feel pretty confident in saying I can knit and crochet anything. . . I'm a one woman knit and knot shop ;)

I have been on DS since 2006 and have been selling on here since probably March 2007. I have been on a 2 year babymoon as my husband left when I was pregnant with our 4th daughter and there were a lot of changes going on in my life that I felt I had to get under control before I returned. Fortunately, my life has finally attained some semblance of balance and normalcy, so I'm back ;)

This post has pictures of play items (toys, teethers, tea sets, play food). The next post has pictures of wearables and the post after that contains pictures of household items I've crafted in the past. If you would prefer to see more pictures, feel free to check out my blog. Thanks for checking out my thread :)

I've been raved :lostit: here , here , here , here and here

POLICIES (note, my policies are the same no matter what I'm knitting or crocheting :giggle: and I have removed them from the next 2 posts containing pictures of wearables and household items so as not to be redundant):

I generally require a nonrefundable deposit to include the cost of materials up front, the balance to be paid upon completion of your order when I will pm you pictures of your items for your approval; however, I can be flexible as far as payments go and am willing to make other arrangements if you need to make multiple payments over time instead of making the deposite then paying the balance.

I accept all forms of PayPal and money orders by mail. All PayPal payments must be received within 24 hours of purchase. Items will ship after your payment has cleared. (Expect a 3-5 day wait on orders purchased by echeck as it takes some time for those to clear. The wait may be longer for money order payments orders to ship, depending on how long it takes for the money order to be received via mail.) I also offer layaway options, so feel free to contact me for layaway details.

All instock domestic purchases will be shipped through PayPal shipping within 2 business days of your payment clearing. Delivery confirmation is included. Insurance is optional and will be added at your request and billed to you for orders under $75, but will be included at no charge for orders over $75. Insurance is not required, but is encouraged as I can't be held responsible for the PO's misplacement or misrouting of any packages.

The turn around time for custom orders depends on the item you request and will be clearly stated to you via message once your order is finalized prior to your payment and any delays will be communicated to you via message immediately. Custom domestic orders will ship within 2 business days of completion.

In stock international purchases will ship from a US post office by the Saturday following clearing of your payment. Custom international orders will ship by the Saturday following completion. If you would like to purchase insurance or tracking on an international order please contact me as neither are included and any tracking or insurance costs will be billed to you at cost.

I will take custom orders on a FCFS basis to ensure timely completion. Anyone who messages me regarding a custom order when these slots are full will be placed on a waiting list, which will also be filled on a FCFS basis and will be contacted once a slot becomes available. I will not accept payment or finalize the order specifications until a slot becomes available, but am happy to discuss your knitting and knotting needs and how I can fulfill them for you at any time via message.

All custom orders are non-refundable and will be made according to your specifications. Refunds requested prior to my starting your custom order will be considered on a case by case basis and may involve a non-refundable portion, depending on items purchased to complete your order prior to beginning your order.

Instock orders can be exchanged for store credit within 2 weeks of purchase as long as the original item is unwashed and unused.
Please inspect your item(s) upon receipt and contact me if there are any problems.

Returns must have prior approval and will be given a RFM # to include with the package. Returns may be eligible for shipping reimbursement. If an item is received without prior communication it will be returned to you at your expense. If abandoned for 14 days after communication is sent, items will be donated and no refund will be given.

Please contact me for a custom order.

~~~~~dangerously cute pictures of toys and teethers below this line~~~~~
These are knot just another toy. . . They are the best toys for your LOs. They are tightly crocheted to ensure that stuffing does not come out durring play/teething and are made from 100% wool or 100% cotton yarn stuffed with cotton fabric scraps and wool sweater scraps to further ensure that stuffing does not come out. All measurements are approximate as final measurements depend upon the yarn you choose and all yarn will be crocheted with needle small enough to ensure that stuffing will not come out and emboidery will be secure.
PM me or post with interest or questions regarding colors of wool and cotton available as these are always changing. I am also willing to offer YYMH options and I am interested in selling or trading.
Currently, I make crocheted stuffed toys, teethers, play food and tea sets, but I can crochet anything and am always up to the challenge of making something new, so if you have something in mind that you want, please feel free to pm me and we'll see if I can make your crocheted dreams a reality :giggle: So scroll down and dream away. Pictures and descriptions are color coded as follows to make it easier for you to find if you are looking for something in particular: stuffed toys, teethers, play food and tea sets, so without further adieu. . .
I make stuffed toys (or Crocheted Cuddly Children's Creations, as I like to call them) that are all tightly crocheted toys stuffed with wool or cotton fabric scraps. You choose between 100%wool and 100%cotton fibers and you also choose the colors. A loop can be added to the toy at no extra charge to enable toy to easily be attatched to car seat or shopping cart covers via use of plastic link and the plastic link can be included at cost. I also make a crocheted alternative to plastic links that attatch the toys to the car seat to ensure that the attatchment method is as car seat safe as the toy. This can be included with the toy for an additional $0.50 to cover the cost of the yarn used to make it with.
Care Instructions: Cotton toys are machine washable on warm or cold settings and machine dryable, which give them the benifit of convenience.
Wool toys will need to be washed gently by hand and air dryed, but have the benefit of wool's antibacterial properties.
Tea sets are available in large and tiny sizes. These are tightly crocheted teasets made in either 100% cotton or 100% wool. Tea sets consist of tea cups and saucers (number to be determined by you), a sugar bowl with removable top with a notch in the top so the spoon fits in the sugar bowl when the top is closed, a milk pitcher with an attatched top, a tea pot with removable top, and a spoon for each cups plus a spoon for the sugar bowl (that way your DC doesn't get tea lumps in the sugar LOL). Spoons can be attatched to cups if desired.
Cotton tea sets will be machine washable on warm or cold settings and machine dryable (as in they will not fall apart in the dryer, although for appearance's sake, letting them air dry in the correct shape is preferrable) perfect for LOs like my DD who have a propensity to add liquid to the tea set LOL. Wool tea sets will need to be washed gently by hand and air dryed, but will have antibacterial properties perfect for the younger teething LOs.
You choose the number of place settings (consisting of a tea cup, spoon and saucer) and what type of yarn you prefer as well as what color(s) you prefer. The two color schemes I have worked with so far are:
*the tea set made in only one color
*the tea set made primarily in a main color with a contrasting color used only to make a ring around the rim of the tea cups and a rim around the saucers.
I am open to any other color scheme ideas you might have and will be continually developing new color schemes as well. I can also emboider designs on the cups and teapot, but embroidery will be extra.
Please note that all sizes posted are approximate sizes and may vary slightly based upon the yarn you choose.
This set is better for smaller children. The components are larger, all tops are attatched and the sugarbowl spoon is attatched to the sugar bowl. Spoons are optional with this set and young children playing with the spoons should be supervised as they are small and flexible and can be balled up to fit into a child's mouth. I can crochet anything and would love to make your crochet dreams into a reality. Without further adieu, here are the pics:
Prices vary depending on size, type of yarn requested and any other options you might like including embroidery or appliqued designs, etc. All wearables will be custom crocheted to your supplied measurements and you will need to supply your LO's waist, rise, hips, and thigh measurements as well as the inseam if you are ordering longies, shorties or capris. For pricing purposes, I have determined these generic unstretched sizing guidelines. All measurements shown are the maximum measurements for that size. Should your LO fall between 2 sizes or have some measurements above and some below, I will use my discretion to determine which size best fits your child as far as pricing.
How to take measurements:
*Remember, all measurements should be taken while your LO is wearing a diaper. I suggest taking measurements while your LO is wearing the bulkiest diaper that you would like the longies to fit over.*
Waist - Measure around your LO's waist where you would like the top of the longies to be.
Rise - Measure from the top of the waist in the front, over the crotch, to the top of the waist in the back.
Thigh - Measure around the top of the thigh (or the largest part you can measure when your LO is wearing a diaper)
Inseam- Measure from the crotch to the length you would like the longies/shorties to be.
small 16" 16" 9" 8"
medium 18" 18" 11" 9"
large 20" 20" 13" 10"
Prices are as follows for Paton's Classic Merino Wool yarn or Lion Brand yarn. I'll also use knitpicks wool of the andes or Cascade 220 if I have it available. If I have to order yarn, dye yarn for you, or you request specialty yarn, I will have to revise my prices accordingly.
Embroidery/embellishments are available and pricing of these will depend upon what you would like embroidered/embellished depending on the level of intricacy you would like the design to have and how long it takes to create the design; however, most designs or embellishments cost between $5 and $10. I also do ruffles, pompoms, drawstring embellishments, and anything else you can imagine crocheted.
Hats and tops can be made to match longies or can be purchased separately. Prices vary based on size and complexity.
Basic beanies $10 with purchase of longes, $15ppd when purchased alone.
Earflap hats or hats with small scarves attatched $15 with purchase of longies or $20ppd if purchased alone
Hats can be made with ears, spikes, horns, flowers, pom poms, and any other embellishments imaginable with $5-10 additional fees depending on the complexity of the additions.
I can use any yarn you would like but will have to revise my prices accordingly. Also, please keep in mind that if my local yarn store does not carry the yarn you request and the yarn store in my bedroom is out, I will have to order the yarn you request online and will ask for a nonrefundable deposit for the cost of the yarn (including shipping to me) up front. Please also understand that I will not be able to start your custom until I receive the yarn so that will add to turn around time.
Going greener and cleaner? Get your crocheted sponges and soap holders here.
While watching Mythbusters a while back, I was disgusted to see the mythbusters confirm that the dirtiest item that we touch everyday is the sponge :yuck: Not only does it have the most bacteria cultures grow from it, but they are the worst type of bacteria, worse than the remote, the keyboard, cell phones, shopping cart handles. . . (the relevant parts of this episode can be seenhere hereand here if you're interested in viewing this confirmation.)
Now, you can wash your sponges in the dishwasher as my MIL does, but when the dishwasher rinses, all that dirty water that ends up soaking into your sponge. :yuck: Not much better IMO and certainly not something I'd want to use to clean with.
I've been making crocheted sponges for a while because I like the fact that you can toss them in the wash with your towels and wash them on hot and dry on hot and kill any nasties that might be on them and I prefer the 3 layer sponges, but I've decided to offer 3 different types of sponges. The first will be one layer with one side smoothe and the other side textured and it will be $2.50 per sponge or 3 for $7 (not including shipping). The second is my standard dual layer sponge that I've been making which is $5 each or 3 for $14 (not including shipping) and the third will be a premium 3 layer sponge that will be $7.50 each or 3 for $21 (not including shipping). I am happy to offer additional discounts on larger orders.
These are all crocheted from 100% cotton unless you request otherwise and are machine washable on hot, warm or cold settings and machine dryable.
Sponges:
Standard sponges are approximately 3" x 4" and are made with 2 layers, roughly the size of the store bought sponges you buy, use for a while, then toss out. These can be tossed in the wash and washed with your wash cloths and towels. They are textured on one side to make scrubbing easier and smooth on the other side to make wiping up crumbs and messes easier. They can be made in any color or in white so that you can bleach them w/o fading their colors.
Pot holders are made from 2 layers of crocheted cotton crocheted together with a hanging loop. They are made in 4", 5" and 6" squares and can also be made circular or in any other shape and can also be made with embellishments on them (skull and crossbones, flowers, chickens, whatever). . .
These washcloths are approximately 7" square and are textured for better scrubbing. I can knit or crochet them, depending on your preference. I can also custom make smaller or larger wash cloths/dishcloths upon request. Wash cloths are $7 each for the 7" square size.
I am also making face cleaning scrubbies. They are approximately 2.25" in diameter (the same size as the store bought astringent pads we used as teenagers) and are 3 for $1 not including shipping. They can be used in the place of cotton balls to apply the astringent to your face when washing your face or can be used to remove nail polish or really for anything you want to use them for. I can even make matching wash cloths if you're interested.
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSCI0336.jpg
Soap Holders are approximately 4 1/2" x 4" with a 5" string used to hang up soap holder. I can also custom make smaller or larger soap holders upon request. These are perfect for storing soap in in the bathroom as well as washing yourself with with the soap inside. Soap holders are $7 each.
