Crock pot help!

I left the crock pot on warm for3-4 hrs instead of low... It IS cooking it- so I just turned it to high to finish for dinner... But do. You think it's ok that it was only on warm?? It wasnt frozen (corned beef) so I'm thinking it should be ok..

I think so. My crock pot only has two temps low and high. Alot of the recipes call for cooking on low.

Should be fine. Just make sure the meat cook through, since it was on the cool side for so long.

I'm pretty paranoid about food, so I would say no, it's probably not safe to eat, even if you get it back up to temperature. Think of it this way - would you eat it if it sat in the sun for 4 hours? Warm is generally just to keep food at serving temperature for the length of a party.

Yes, I would just test the meat for doneness...

I would think it's still alright and just cook it at high for a few hours.

If it's anything like mine then warm is just the same as low. My large crock pot automatically goes to warm after the allotted time and when I got home from work the meal was burnt. The warm kept cooking it and it wasn't edible when I got home. I'd say it's just fine.

We are eating it! Hah- my crock runs on the hot side. Hopefully it's fine.

Corned beef is already cooked right?

BTW, I just got a new crockpot today (yay!!). In the manual it says not to 'cook' food on warm because it only gets to 145 degrees, but once your food IS cooked it can be on warm for up to 24hours.
