Did anyone have a "period" and really be pregnant?

So my period is due on 10/16, but I started bleeding on Sunday which, according to my chart, is supposed to be one week post ovulation. It's been like a period, medium flow. I think today is the last day, which would be four days. My period is usually 5 to 7 days. However, now I feel like I did when I was pregnant with my daughter. Exhausted! My husband is actually an OB and says that while it's not common, it does happen. Has anyone had this happen to them before? I'm going to resist taking a pregnancy test until after the 16th.

I've never had bleeding while pregnant.....not even implantation bleeding. I have however read about other women who have and I think it's fairly common. If your hubby is an OB, could he do a blood test for you to see if you actually as PG before the 16th? :goodvibes:

P.S. Your baby girl is ADORABLE!!!

So I caved and took a pregnancy test and it was negative! Just read your story and it was crazy! I'm going to take another test after the 16th. I'm waiting to do a blood test because we did one about 10 days post ovulation and it came back negative even though I was actually pregnant.

Thats exactly what happened when I was pregnant with dd. We were not trying so just assumed it was an early period and used tampons and everything and like a week later started having pregnancy symptoms and sure enough was preggo with dd!

My aunt has 5 boys - all of which were surprises to her. She had her 'period' throughout every pregnancy. She's never gone into much detail about it, but I know she bled on schedule with all 5.

This message won't self destruct in 30 seconds.

Re: Did anyone have a "period" and really be pregnant?

I had heavy bleeding with lots of clots with DS3's pregnancy - it started the day AF was due, so I assumed it was AF, lasted for 12 days. After it stopped, I was feeling really exhausted and wondered if it was from bleeding so much/heavily. Turns out I was pregnant, the bleeding was from a good size SCH that ended up being absorbed by my body and resolved with no further bleeding.

I also had spotting/bleeding start a week after ovulation once. I was pregnant, but I lost the baby at 4wk3d.

Still feeling exhausted! We'll see what happens next week when I test again. Hopefully good news.
