Water broke!!!
 

Woo Hoo!!!!! But, it is meconium (sp? and no time to look it up :giggle:) stained for sure. We are leaving for hospital when my childcare gets here. In the meantime, anyone have any info this and how long before baby needs to be out? I know the meconium can cause issues. So, I am a little worried, not too much though. Thanks!!

ETA - We're off! Can't wait to meet this baby boy! :yay:

I don't know the answer, but I would guess they will want to monitor the lo closely, I think it is more of a problem at the actual time of delivery- making sure they are suctioned out really well before they have a chance to breathe it in too much.

Woohoo!! Congrats. Don't worry to much about the Mec. If baby comes out screaming they just watch for s/sx of infection. If baby comes out not screaming they will suction the lungs and still watch for s/sx of infection. Good luck and can't wait for an update. Sending positive vibes your way!

Good luck!! Both my girls had meconium in their waters. The first one I had an amniotic infusion to get as much of the meconium out, the second (different hospital), they never did anything like that. With both of them, I did have NICU teams at their birth to make sure their lungs were clear and they didn't inhale/swallow any, as that can be dangerous to baby.

What color was it? When my water broke it was yellow but it wasnt meconium

Yay!! Congrats:) I agree with the meconium being an issue during actual delivery, not wanting baby to ingest/inhale it.
I've never had my water break, I've read so many birth stories lately with water breaking starting labor, lol:) Will be praying for you mama!!
