Flat rate envelopes
I need to mail something to a friend. I was planning to use a flat rate padded envelope since its cheaper and realized paying online is even cheaper. Can I print the label at home, go to the PO, grab an envelope, pack it there and tape on the label? Going to the PO, home to print the label and back to the PO isn't worth the dollar savings. Sorry if this is silly, I've never done the online payment thing, or used the flat rate stuff.

Re: Flat rate envelopes
You can print it at home and then pack it at the post office OR you can pick up the envelope, print and pack it at home and schedule online a pick up from your home by your letter carrier.

I've tried.
Our city's PO's don't carry the padded flat rate envelope. 0_o I spent a half a day running all over town (there are about 4 I could go to) and NONE of them carry them... I'd call ahead and ask first if they have them. |
I decided to do the small box instead anyway. It was only 5 cents more and I heard that some locations don't have the padded envelopes. I have three POs within less than 10 miles, two of which are pretty big. I'm hoping the small box is easier to find.

The padded envelope I've always had to get it online and I keep them on hand at home (I think you have to get 10 at a time) |
The padded FREs have to be ordered from USPS, the 'stores' don't carry them. They are free to order but it takes 1-2 weeks to arrive
