Weaning help!

I think I'm ready although the crying is making me want to give in...my son is 17 months...I am starting to find that I am resenting having to nurse so much.

I am also sad to see this phase of my life go! Does this make sense? Any tips?

I can imagine wanting more freedoms, it's just not for me, personally, I love nursing my rambunctious toddler! I say, if you're unsure, don't make any decisions you feel you will regret. My daughter LOVES nursing, and it is very important to both of us, especially with flu season coming!

Make it easier on both of you, and don't go cold turkey. Maybe set a schedule instead. Then cut out 1 feed at a time. Less crying involved, and you may feel like you can stick it out a little longer if you only have to nurse a certain number of times per day.

Try a little "me time" while you nurse and maybe you won't resent it so much? Can you read a book or shop on your phone? Have some cartoons on so you aren't responsible for the entertainment. This worked great for me.

I am nursing DS #4, and BF all of them. I enjoyed nursing all of them, but I also understand how you feel about it. You might want to take it slow, because you might change your mind. Plus make sure your LO is ready also. But the cold season is coming up, you might want to wait until after that.
