So, dd wants a doll for her birthday. I love corolle dolls, I think they are very good quality. My dd will be 4- the 12" dolls are little but are $40 the 14" bigger dolls are $70+
Suggestions?

Did you look on Amazon? I noticed an older version of this one was 79, but then there was a notice that said there's a newer version of the doll, and voila 57.13: http://www.amazon.com/Corolle-Classi...p_ob_title_toy

I guess it depends on which style you want. These are 14 inch and only $41: http://www.amazon.com/Corolle-Classi...=corolle+dolls

Is there a particular style you're looking at?

We have corolle, stella, and american girl doll bitty baby. DD is 4 and she loves these babies. She plays house and reads to them, feeds them, pushes in a stroller etc

Aww, she's adorable.

Found her on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Corolle-Doll...item2576497cf4

If that doesn't work out, then you can always keep the item saved to your amazon cart, and check periodically to see if the price goes down. If the price doesn't bother you so much, then I say, get her! I'm an enabler! It is a lot for a doll, but it sounds like your daughter will appreciate her. And, as long as Charmeur doesn't wind up as that cute dog's doggie toy, then why not? I only mention that because we got a corolle (less expensive one) for my DD's first doll, and one of our dog's gave her a haircut!!!!

My MIL got my daughter one when she was 2.5 years old. She loves it. It talks in four different languages (depending on the bracelet.. I think default is french), you can feed her and she has a potty. Now my 10 month old likes to steal it and they fight over her lol. We have "Lia" :) My oldest loves to play Mommy so she really enjoys that she talks and does things lol.

We have a Corolle Tidoo doll. She was meant to go in the tub, but I never suggested it, and she has stayed dry so far. She is very much loved by my 4 year old.
