Hat advice
 

My friend just had her second baby and I'd like to send her a knit baby hat. But she also has a 2 year old and I'd like to make a matching set. So I need a pattern that would work (and be cute on) a newborn and a 2 year old. Any suggestions? (and pics would be great!!)

Both boys, should probably add I just started knitting this year and although I can do longies fairly well and am working on our first sweater I am a surgeon not a professional knitter, so the skill level required can't be too crazy!!!!

OP, I did a Hudson hat. It wasn't too bad and it is really cute. It was my first project that wasn't a square! I did have to watch a bunch of you tube videos because I didn't kno,w how to use circular needles, make icords, etc., but even with my newbie skills I figured it out.

Pretty sure...surgeon = skilled. Just saying. ;)

:blush: well, I may be skilled with some needles but don't really count knitting needles among them yet...

that owl hat is cute, cute, cut, but only goes up to 12 months, boo.

I think I might do 2 matching hudson hats, just have to see if I have enough yarn, otherwise I might be forced to buy more yarn :eek:

If oyu can make longies HATS are easy peasy! :thumbsup:

and I agree the HORROR of having to buy more yarn *gasp* :giggle2:
