Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of October 15th

This thread is for women that have children who are trying to have more and struggling with infertility (IF). You fall into the IF category if you have been trying for more than a year or if you have known fertility issues. Some have secondary IF and some have primary IF. Some of us are TTC naturally and some need treatments of some type. All are welcome!

We also have women who are praying to make it. Due to prior losses or IF they don't feel like they should join a due date board till after the first 12 weeks. We are truly happy to support you as you transition. Please just keep in mind that we are a group of woman struggling with IF and be sensitive to that as you post. If you put a pregnancy ticker or smiley in your signature, please turn off your signature when you post in this thread. Thank you!

Please note: When your information needs to be updated, please highlight the area that needs to be updated. This will make it easier for me to update you. :goodvibes:

If you'd like to be added please post your info using the format below. Please note: I remove names if you are inactive for one month. This really helps keep the list more manageable, if you would like to be added back, just repost your info. :D

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of October 15th

Today is the day I have a saline sonogram to check for UT capacity, volume, and abnormalities. Hopefully they've got a few of my blood tests back. I know two won't be back because they were going out of state and they told me they'd be two weeks. I really just keep hoping they're going to find something, it's going to be easy to fix and we'll be on our way again (well once dh recovers from this latest round of infusions again.) I know that's really unlikely but I keep hoping.

Laurel- I hope you get some answers. I'll be thinking about you. I bet you can't wait to get going again.

Robin- I have added you. Welcome and I hope your stay is short! That is fascinating that the Clomid helped your husband. I couldn't find a Dr willing to try it with my husband. How big of a difference did it make? My husband's situation may be just so different that it wouldn't work for us. Good luck with your upcoming surgery!

Reason my DH went on 25mg Clomid is due his Testosterone was only 186 back in Oct 2009 he was put on Clomid help his testosterone level an when he had it checked again in Dec 09 it was 511. His specialist was thrilled how great his testosterone level was. His sperm count before was put on Clomid would be like 3-10 million alone with the movement of them only been 30% most of the time. Now his counts run between 90million down to 50million but that is before having a IUI done. After they wash them his counts has been 35-30 million with movement at 70%-100%. Also my DH is on different types of vitamins too help his swimmers too. The last time my DH went to his specialist the company that makes Clomid wanted my DH to tell how he was responding so they could make notes. Oh my DH testosterone level last time was 589 I believe it was.

Now for me I can not wait to get my surgeries over with so can get things back going. I've been on this long road so long need some hope very soon. Plus our ages is different too. My Dh maybe 47 but at times he like a 20 yr lol.

Thanks for welcoming me to join this group an know I'm not alone on this stuff. :hugs:

That IS really cool about the clomid!

Afm, I went back to work today, sitting and teaching for most of the day. After my grandiose exit amid lots of beeding, I guess the rumors were flying on Friday. I arrived at my job to find out my dog was dead, my son was in the hospital, my house had burned down, and I had been fired. None were true, of course, and the boss and I had a good laugh over it. 8th graders can be so dramatic...

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of October 15th

Kids are too funny.

AFM, I will start BC today and hopefully after the first pack I will cycle. Otherwise this visit was a waste. We are going to give it until April and we are going to try for IVF then if needed. I am trying to have faith that everything has a way of working out and this should be fine now, but it is so hard to see it that way right now.

The want Todd to do a sperm analysis. Is $160 about par for the course?

Hope4More 10-15-2012 03:53 PM

I need your advise/ideas.

Obviously, I have a few IF issues. Otherwise I wouldn't be here. I have a neighbor friend IRL who has struggled with IF much more than I have. She talked me through my wonky cycles, although she was much more closed off about her own journey. I told her in July we were ttc, God willing. She was excited, and wished us quick success. After trying unsuccessfully for 5 years with O issues and male factor, She adopted a newborn girl in June. So lets pretend for a moment that this Fridays appointment brings us more good news (fingers crossed)... How on earth do I tell her???? I know from experience you typically want to stab any pregnant lady in her eyes the moment she announces a pregnancy. At least, I did. Is there any way I can hurt her less? Maybe if I let her know if she wants to avoid me for a while, I completely understand? But how do I bring it up? Showing an u/s pic or just saying 'I'm pregnant' just seems, idk, cruel? Maybe I'm struggling because I've been in her shoes and know there is no right answer. Does anyone have an idea? I hope I'm not jinxing Friday by posting this...

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of October 15th

Tina- That seems about right for a SA. I think we might have paid just a smidge less- but it also depends on what kind of semen analysis they do. The basic should be cheaper than that, but the Kruger was about that much for us. Is it a Kruger?

Mel- I would really try to tell her over email or the phone. I have a friend that has struggled and is now 47 and has given up the fight. She still asked that I send her a text or email, give her time to process/grieve and then she will be on track. That has been my experience as well- I had friends get pregnant twice in the time we've been trying for #2 and they sent us a text or email each time. I cried and felt sorry for our situation and then was able to congratulate them. Hope that helps a little.

AFM: My lining is "perfect" FET is Nov. 2nd.
