Vibes for my littlest.
My smallest and youngest dog started vomiting last night and is now lying on my lap in hospital on a drip.
She is flat with an elevated white cell count. DH gave her a chop bone on Saturday. He grew up with farm dogs and never believed me when I warned him of the dangers of cooked bones. He feels horrible. He cried this morning when he was holding her. He adores this dog. The bone isn't lodged. They seem to think it has scratched and inflamed the intestine. She is just so tiny that we need to control the vomiting and keep her hydrated. Vibes for my baby if you can spare. |
Poor puppy! Healing vibes your way!

Poor little mite is home but is still refusing food and water. I force fed two bites of calorie paste and then left her alone.

Aww. Poor pupp! I hope he starts feeling better!

Re: Vibes for my littlest.
vita-cal from Dr Fosters and Smith is awesome calorie dense stuff. Also, with the tiny ones some cooked chicken breast is a good start with a little bit of broth and they sometimes are more likely to eat that than even canned foods. My mother has raised several 4lb yorkies and she has lots of experience nursing tiny dogs because we have rescued a few with liver issues that were always very fragile. I hope the tiny one feels better tomorrow. Sorry that happened.

I hope your little dog heals quickly, and begins to eat.

Re: Vibes for my littlest.
We lost one of ours to a bone. It tore through her intestine and she went from fine to dead very quickly. She pulled through surgery but died shortly after
I hope your wee critter makes it :hugs: |
