New WAHM and a question!

Hey all! Just starting testing the WAHM waters with an Etsy site recently. I'm doing applique shirts and shirts/skirts. No sales on Etsy since launching 2 weeks ago, but some sales from a craft fair and several customs from people who have seen the work in person. Yay! I now know that my photos are a major fail on Etsy and need lots of work (unfortunately, all shirts are now across the country for a Nov. craft show!).

Here is my question-

Can WAHMS make and sell licensed logos. Example--I recently made my own son a Broncos' shirt to match some woolies.

What about if someone asks you to make a Dora shirt or something like that?

Thanks!!

Technically you can't reproduce a copywrighted item. People do it on etsy all the time though. Some companies are stricter about it than others and do surf etsy looking for offenders. Some don't.

Just because people do it all the time does not mean it is legal or ethical.

The Broncos shirt is actually just a Garanimals from Walmart. I LOVE that brand for the boy's shirts. Never used to, but the quality has really gone up, I feel!

Both long sleeve and short sleeve run $3.88 here and when they clearance at the end of the season, they are generally $2.50. That's when I stock up! :)

I agree. I won't be doing anything illegal! :) I certainly wouldn't sell anything on my Etsy site. I was more thinking about a mom who asked me to do some ISU and Iowa logo shirts as a custom. But I think I figured out a way to make great shirts using ISU and Iowa fabric, but not recreating the logo.

The whites are just Rabbit Skins lap tees.

If you are using their fabric, that is a totally different story :goodvibes:

Ok so just to be clear, using their fabric is okay, but not their logo correct? I am also working on my shop and just want to be clear for the future.
