Dairy free mashed potatoes?

I want to make mashed potatoes for dinner. I usually use butter and milk or cream.

I'm fairly certain my little girl has a milk protein intolerance, as every time I eat dairy she gets an upset tummy.

So, I was wondering if I can use my unsweetened almond milk in the mashed potatoes instead of milk. Has anyone tried this? I use it in my coffee, and i don't mind it on cereal. The texture seems a little thicker than milk, so it should work, right?

Thanks.
God bless!

my sister has a dairy intolerance. for her mashed taters she uses soy milk and blue bonnet margarine which is the only margarine she can use.

The almond should work. I've used vanilla soy milk before and it was still good. We use earth's balance spread in them.

I use unsweetened almond milk, a dash of salt & pepper, and a tab of DF butter. YUM!

Coconut milk or coconut oil for the butter.

When DS was dairy free I used olive oil and a splash of rice milk.
