We make these things every year (just did the first two on Monday and will do the mix next week):

Thanksgiving Candy Turkeys: I now make these with fudge stripe cookies and lindt's chocolate balls when we have the extra money. Creme drops and ritz crackers are the more economical version of them though! http://tastykitchen.com/recipes/holi...ing-turkeys-2/

Thanksgiving Candy Pilgrim Hats: When we make these, we don't use icing, but fruit leather strips/fruit roll-ups to use for the band and buckle.

Thanksgiving Party Blessing Mix:

Then we play a Turkey Hunt game (use a stuffed animal as a turkey and hide it while the children count. they have to be SUPER quiet when hunting turkeys while they search for it. whoever finds it first gets to hide it next if they want).

We made construction paper Native American hats and they cut lines in the feathers for cutting practice and to make it textured.

Oriental Trading Company has a good array of ideas for crafts (sometimes I borrow their ideas with things I already have from home and I buy from them a lot of times too). We made turkey paper plates the other day and later this week, we'll make turkey brown bag puppets.

Next week, I have turkey handprints craft planned. We do this every year and I laminate them and use them for placemats at Thanksgiving.

Then we watch Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Winnie the Pooh's Season of Giving (tday is in there too) for the little ones.

We are going to do alot of the activities from Delightful Learnings blog this Mon-Wed

DH is going to do the actual Thanksgiving cooking this year so I think I will only have to make a desert. This is the first time we are doing this with him cooking for the holiday so it should be fun. That will free up some time for me to do some extra crafts/activities with the kids.

Love the idea of the laminated placemats.....we are going to do this!

Scholastics website has a "visit the Mayflower" virtual field trip I think we're going to check out today. Kids will help me cook as much as possible. we're breaking from regular studies until after the holiday. So I want to make a fabric turkey and some other crafty things.

Only thing I know for sure we're doing for Thanksgiving is driving to Michigan so we can do FIL's 70th birthday party. Being there for Thanksgiving is a bonus.

Going to have to check some stuff out! We made leaves and wrote things we were grateful for. We put those up on our wall. We've been experiencing a very beautiful fall this year so we have gone on some leaf walks, pressed leaves, talked about colors, etc. Tomorrow we are doing a turkey kit with my neice. We are also planning on doind cinnamon ornaments in the next few weeks.

My children are not quite 4 and 2, so we are focusing mainly on creating traditions than history, etc.
