What is this rash???
 

DS2 has had this for about four days now. The first couple days, it was really small, and I thought he had just scratched himself. When it didn't go away, I thought maybe it was a patch of dry skin, so I put some coconut oil on it. Didn't work. So yesterday, I put a teeeeeeeny tiiiiiiiny dab of hydrocortisone cream on it, and it got HUGE! I feel so bad. :( My pediatrician's office isn't open on the weekends, and it's not anything too urgent, but I really would love to know what is going on. Any thoughts, mamas?

Excema? Kind of looks like that to me.

Could be roseloa or fifths disease...it is hard to tell with out knowing more symptoms. If it is either of those they are common childhood illnesses, nothing to worry too much about. Just rest, liquids and keep away from other children. I would do the doc on Monday. Sorry mama, SO hard when our babies are sick :(

Aside from the rash, he is just happy and normal otherwise... He is teething hard-core right now-- his first tooth just poked through on Monday, and the second one is working hard to come out, too. I looked up eczema, and I think that might be what's going on. :(

It is my understanding that HC can make a fungal rash worse. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Did you try any new foods with him around this time??

I have heard that too. If he does not have a fever and seems happy otherwise then I would not worry too much over the weekend.
