How to you decide age
All this talk about stains solid foods has me confused about how you are supposed to determine age. We have been going by weeks (ex. 8 weeks = 2 months) but it didn't even occur to me until now that some people go by the actually month (Sept 11 = 1 month, oct 11 = 2 months, etc). How did you determine what was actually the 4 or 6 month mark?

Re: How to you decide age
My husband and I had this discussion awhile back. I was tending to go by the actual weeks on the day my son was born (Monday) and my husband was going by the date (18th). Now I just go by the day of the month and he's 5 months exactly today in that tracking. We've been happily celebrating his 5 month birthday today!

Re: How to you decide age
My DD was born on a 22 so we use that as her monthly "birthday".

Re: How to you decide age
I use the weeks.

Re: How to you decide age
I just use the date. Only Feb. has 28 days so 4 weeks doesn't always equal a month.
Going by "weeks" your child would be "12 months old" at 336 days old ....a whole 29 days before their first birthday. The whole point of going by "months" is to gauge when they are most likely to be developmentally and physically ready for something. You would be introducing things early.... Aw crud I just saw this is another old thread revived by a newbie... Oh well I'm not going to bother to erase what I typed..Ha ha |
