Thanksgiving home-made musts!
My mil offered to bring mashed potatoes to Thanksgiving dinner but said they would be boxed...yuck. I kindly passed on the offer. Just has me thinking, what just has to be homemade at your dinner?
For me: Mashed potatoes Sweet potatoes Pies |

Re: Thanksgiving home-made musts!
Nearly everything but gravy. There's never enough homemade gravy and store bought supplemental gravy is acceptable.

Although I am making a slight exception this year and bought frozen dutch apple and cherry pies. I am making the pumpkin pie from scratch but just don't have the energy to do the others from scratch too. |
Yes, I prefer everything too, but I admit that I don't make stuffing myself, but I dr the boxed stuff up. Also I am weird and love jellied cranberry sauce over homemade...I know may seem gross!

Everything! Although this year I did buy canned pumpkin just in case I run out of time/energy to peel, cube and puree a real one for my pumpkin cheesecake.

What was strange about my MIL is that she is also bring homemade rolls and comments about how the potatoes are such a pain. That is just backwards! Even my DH can make mashed potatoes...they are so easy.

Have to have:
Dressing Potatoes Desserts Cranberry Sauce Can get away with store: Gravy Rolls (but I usually make them) |
Everything is homemade except for the pies this year.
My mum is a fabulous cook. I'm so looking forward to Thursday. I am making rolls (I'm doing a test run today) and our family recipe cranberry jello salad. Mum does the rest. |
