What to buy a sensory seeker for the holidays?

My almost 2 year old is a sensory seeker, big time! We had her evaluated by EI and were told that yes, she could benefit from OT services b/c she clearly has some sensory issues going on, but she didn't qualify :(

Anyway I am looking for some good holiday gifts for her. She loves water, jumping, climbing, anything messy :)

So far she's getting a floor drum, a ceiling swing from ikea, and a trampoline. Oh and a water basket ball set.

What are some good items for sensory seeking kiddos?

My 19 month little one isn't sensory seeking, but her favorite physical toys right now are the Rody horse, and a sit & spin.

I also follow the play at home moms blog and they do a lot of very active/tactile projects that have really inspired me. Lately we've been doing waterballoons in the bathtub. We also got a mini pool and filled it with wood pellets from the farm supply store - she loves digging and scooping and burying things in there. We've also got a sensory tub and fill it with things like bubbles, or water, or shaving cream, or slime etc... For a sensory seeking little one, I would also suggest a pass to a local childrens museum or playpark type of a place.

My youngest (2 years old) had some sensory processing issues. We are in the process of getting a full sensory profile and therapy plan, but in the meantime, he is in speech therapy (severe delay). His speech therapist is awesome, and we do his speech therapy in their gym so we have access to a lot of the cool sensory toys. The absolute best thing for him when he's seeking is the steamroller, like this: http://www.autism-products.com/Autis...r_p/015695.htm I looked them up and found out they are pretty spendy, but if you have a sensory seeker and don't qualify for OT it might be worth it to save up for one. Another awesome tool is a weighted ball or a giant exercise ball to roll them back and forth over. The trampoline is also a great idea! I wish we had room for an indoor one for our little man. Jumping is so soothing to him.

Thanks~! Nicolemariep we don't have the room but I bought it anyway! LOL! I ended up with a child size folding one with a bar, its from magic cabin. That way if we need to store it when people come over its easier to slip under a bed or something. I guess we'll see!

Mrspopo that blog sounds awesome. Would you mind sharing the link? Thanks!

That was about the age we got the mini trampoline, and the most amazing scooter EVER. It allowed my son to go fast, and use his body to control motion (unlike other scooters.) I cannot rave enough about this scooter. Seriously! No other scooter ever came close (in fact, he was always tripping over the other brands.) He is going on 6 now and still zooms around on it daily.
