my DD got the best christmas gift ever!
 

my sister lives in new mexico and we are in houston so we dont see each other often. she moved when my daughter was about 2 weeks and she is now almost 5 months old so this Christmas is the first time in a while that she got to see her aunt! For her christmas gift to my dd she got a couple of her favorite kids books and video recorded herself reading them. my dad put them all up on youtube so that i can play them for TL and she can see/hear her aunt! here they are-

That is fabulous!!! I read your thread title and I was like, okay then. But I looked at a few of them and I think that is the best gift I've heard of this year.

You could even do it with library books, or it could be a two-fer. Buy the books for a local child, but use them to make the videos first.

If only she could get the pictures closer to the camera.

Aunt Katlyn should definitely read the Shel Siverstein funny poetry books!

I'm going to ask her to do this every year with different books, I'll mention this one!

An absolutely green gift your daughter can use forever. (and for your future kids too!) And its so nice that you appreciate it so much. So many people would be put off by something as intangibly useful as this.

What an AMAZING gift! So very neat!

Hmmm.... This just gave me an idea . I think I may record DH reading the kiddos some bed time stories before he leaves again for another job out of state on the 3rd.
