Super nanny let down
 

Just a quick vent, I was watching Super Nanny yesterday (find myself watching shows I don't typically watch whenever I have a new nursing) and was upset by her reaction and subsequent encouragement to wean for a mother and her 14 month old. Someone actually demonstrates extended breastfeeding and she makes it look like something totally unnatural. Ugh!

She is also against cosleeping :(

I think I remember that if it was an old episode. I think she at least let them mom use pumped bm in the bottle.

I BF my DD until 2 and plan to do the same with my son. SO important to me. I wonder if she has kids? Very Sad....

She has no children.
It is a bit sad, but on the other hand she just wanted to get the baby away and not be so attached to mama. Pumping and feeding in a bottle/sippy is not bad and I think that's what she wanted.

Then again it's not up to her...

No it's not. They did ask for her help though.

I don't watch shows like this or a baby story.
It only ends in frustration wanting to yell at the tv.

Write letters, Mamas. Lots of people look to this show for parenting help. She should be supporting the mom's decision about when to wean.

I can't remember if it was pumped milk in the bottles. I just was disturbed by the "tone" of the issue, it seemed they were blaming a very dependent toddler on the fact that the mother was still breastfeeding.
