What music does your DH/SO listen too?
 

Do you listen to different music than your husband or partner? What is their taste in music? I need some good recs for music for a 'guy' friend and I know my taste is very feminine. Thanks in advance.

My husband listens primarily to 3 different kinds of music:

Scandinavian folk metal, like Korpiklani.
Queen.
Classical, particularly Bach and Chopin, which he can play on the piano.

I don't really know how unusual he is in his musical tastes. He is a good tenor and has other musical abilities so that could be part of it.

My ex liked primarily guitar based music, which could be Adrian Belew, Rush, Led Zeppelin, all of that business.

Heavy metal. We have complete opposite tastes. The only thing we agree on is no country. Lol

First of all, what is the age of your guy friend? I think that would make a huge difference in the type of music he would like.

He is 36 and generally seems to like the Black Keys, Allison Krauss, Robert Plant, Lauryn Hill, some band called Gang Starr lol. He does not like heavy metal or slow rock covers but really wants to 'experience' some new music.

indie stuff, dh is 34

DH is 38 and is pretty much all over the place. He always returns to reggae though. That's his favorite, followed by music influenced by reggae. Sublime, Dirty Heads, anything like that. Rock, rap, classical, country, almost anything is fair game.

Mostly rap and hip hop. He is 28.

DH is 30 and mostly listens to classical and jazz, though he has an excellent collection of 90s alternative as well (left over from high school). His favourite is Glenn Gould and he is also an accomplished pianist. I like his music, but also listen to pop every now and then...he never does.
