Doula Do or Doula Don't

We have just started thinking about a possible third child and I have used the same doula for my past two births. First one she was awesome and I really lend her part of the credit as to why I didn't have a CS.

Baby number two she showed up for about four hours of my 24 hour labor at home, we went to the hospital where I pushed for 15 minutes at the hospital and my husband felt excluded because she can be agressive. This would be our last and he really wants to be part of the action. It scares me to go doulaless. :) I've heard the third is the wild card baby. Anyone have any insight?

You've already gone through this twice. I vote no doula. I seriously considered hiring one with the last pregnancy but wasn't really impressed with my options at the time and decided against. My husband seriously surprised me with how helpful he was. It was so awesome having him be such a bigger part of the process. It brought us closer together and was great instant bonding for him and the baby as well. Honestly it was one of the best parts about doing it naturally. If your husband is requesting to be more a part of the process I'm sure he will be willing to do everything you need and more and would be really special for both of you if he could.

Or could you go with a different doula?

If you want to go with a different doula let me know...my sister has one that she loves that she used for both of her babies (she lives in Seattle).

What do you like about the doula?

Could these be something that maybe your dh could do? or a family member? or friend?

Different doula... But definitely a doula. He should meet her too.
