14mo still pees so often!

Hi everyone!

My 14mo DD has been EC'd since 2.5 months (daytime only), and we're at the point now where all the poops go in the potty (since 8 months), but we still miss up to half the pees every day. She just pees so often still! In the mornings I take her every 25 minutes or we have a wet diaper. I can get away with taking her a little less often in the evening (every 30-40 minute). I just really thought by now I wouldn't have to take her so often. is this normal? is there anything I can do to get her to go a little longer between pees? thanks!

Wow, that sounds lucky. My 2.5 year old has to pee every 5 minutes after she gets a drink for about half an hour. I'd love to be able to take her/have her go less often! I really don't know what to do to get longer between pees. My mom says I had the same problem growing up, and the dr told her to give me fewer big drinks instead of lots of little ones so I'd drink and then pee it all out. It didn't ever work. Even now I have to pee a lot. So we just claim my daughter inherited my pea sized bladder and figure as she gets older she'll be able to hold it a little more as she practices. I just limit her liquids if I know we aren't going to be by a toilet and we deal with it. Good luck, maybe there is something you can do, but I don't know of any great ideas.

She might have a small bladder. My DD started going with no accidents at 21m. At 15m she did the same thing yours is doing!

Every kid is different. We part-time EC'd our kids and my son reliably pooped in the potty by 1 year but couldn't go long stretches without peeing until he was about 2. My daughter, on the other hand, didn't start reliably pooping in the toilet until about 18 or 19 months, but she's able to be diaper-free now during the day at 21 months.
