It's Heiner's birthday today. He's already had his gift so I have nothing to give him. I'm not going to go out and buy random crap for him to open. I spend a lot on his gifts and he had them early. So today we'll have a nice dinner and I'll bake and that'll do.

I called him at 6am so the kids could all wish him happy birthday and sing to him. They loved that.

Heiner asked me to make an apple pie instead of a cake. We've had enough cake to last a long time! So the dough for the pie is in the fridge setting so I can blind-bake it. I'll finish baking it later.

WFD: Chicken nuggets, chips, and apple pie with ice cream and custard...it is a birthday pie after all :giggle2:

Pie case is in the oven with the Le Creuset baking beans. I got two tubs of them so I've covered the bottom and made sure they go up the sides too. I dont want the case to melt and fold-in when it bakes. But I think I need to blind-bake my pie cases in future because I've had too many pies not well baked on the base now. I hate that.

I might make brownies too....I still have one box of GF brownie mix. Everyone likes it and it's quick to make. IDK but I think it might make the dinner a bit more birthday-ish to have it. I have some white frosting that's meant for muffins but that would work.
