Birth Class

So there is really no way that my husband and I can make birth classes. I work in the morning, husband goes to school in the morning and then works in the evening.

Are there any good books or videos that we could watch that would take place of a class?

Check out Ina Mays book and The Birth Partners Guide to labor :) I've never done birth classes, its not how I learn effectively.

What Ina Mays book? I believe she has written more than one.

Ina May's Guide to Childbirth (the best book, IMO)
Husband Coached Childbirth
Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way
The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth (thought this was very informative)

I have read "the thinking womans guide..." and half way read "natural childbirth the bradley way".

Thanks for the suggestions!

I use it for the relaxation techniques mostly during pregnancy. With my last birth I didn't follow any of the stuff they talked about but I knew the process (labor wise) and had my mws there for the later stuff (I would say what I felt and asked if it was normal :giggle:). Otherwise we never took a class or read any books  Hubby is pretty hands off anyhow for me when it comes to birth stuff, he's just not as passionate as I am, lol.

How about mybirthclass.com? Never tried it (I'm a HUGE hypnobabies fan, myself) but heard about it.

I also agree with Hypnobabies and Ina May but I can also say that we have a similar situation but add in almost 2 year old twins! We were able to find a 4 hour one time Sunday class with the topic of "Coping with pain and the role of the birth partner". I think it will be very helpful! Maybe you can find a class like this in your area?
