How much should i be getting?

My newest lo is 8 days old and has trouble latching, so I'm just pumping. How many ounces should I get at each pump session? I have been getting 2-3oz and 3-4 oz with the first pump in the morning (I have the hardest time pumping during the night, can't stay awake). She eats 2-3oz every 3 hrs, so does the amount I get sound ok?
Will it increase as she gets older? Pumping didn't work before and it's seems to be good so far:)

You can try a nipple shield, it works wonders for latching issues. Easy to use them, I had two and it saved us and made it where I could bf. I know this isn't your question but it will help. Good luck;0)

That sounds good.

Each person is so different and responds to the pump differently so it is hard to say yes or no. I would say as long as you are meeting your babies needs and then some you are doing fine.

I have the best luck with my first two pumps of the day. I also block feed and when I was building up my freezer stash for going back to work I would feed off of the lesser punping side (she got plenty) two or three times and pump the better producing side. My right side has always responded to the pump better. I have no idea why.
